I must say that I do like the town hall style format, and I'd prefer all if not at least two of the debates to have had that format. It's a lot better to hear questions from a wide range of voters than just from one moderator.
This second debate was quite interesting and revealing (regardless of the constant interruptions by Tom Brokaw). I would've preferred to have seen a wider range of issues covered (in all of the debates - it seems to be just economy and foreign policy, and if any other topic is mentioned, it's usually in relation to the economy anyway). And I think that the questions could have been more creative as well as diverse, but I guess we have Tom Brokaw to thank for that, if he chose them. What annoyed me about both candidates though, is how none of them would answer any of the damn questions. I know that it must be extremely hard to ad lib a lot of those speeches (I certainly could never manage it), but most of what both of the candidates were saying just seemed to be the same speeches that they'd memorised prior to the debate. And that's okay, for a while, but I got sick of hearing it after a short time and actually wanted to hear their answers to the questions.
And who did I think won? Well, McCain again did well, but I'd hand another victory to Obama (and this is not me just being biased as an Obama supporter, I swear).
Random note: How many times did McCain say "my friends"? I bet over 100.
